Road Maintenance

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT SCHEME

Tipperary County Council invites applications for the above scheme from groups of local residents. The scheme will apply to local public roads of the following types – low traffic volume, minor and cul-de-sac.
The Council proposes to allocate grants under the above Scheme on condition that residents pay a financial contribution of 15%.

Maintenance of Hedges

During the Winter storms, a large number of trees and branches fell on public roads. Owners and occupiers of land adjoining roads are requested to inspect trees and hedges on their property and ensure that they do not pose a danger to road users.

Public/Street Lighting

Should you wish to report a public light out of order in your area you can contact Airtricity directly. Airtricity carries out repairs on behalf of the County Council:-

Roads Programme

Below are the Grant Allocations for both National Roads and Regional & Local Roads for County Tipperary from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII, formerly the NRA) for 2016. The Roads Programme for 2016 will be posted when it becomes available.

Winter Maintenance 2016-2017- Salting Routes

The winter maintenance period lasts from mid October to the end of April each year. Tipperary County Council is constantly striving to improve its winter maintenance service; however, neither the local authority nor Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) (formerly the NRA) has a statutory obligation to pre-salt roads.
