Discharge to Sewer

These guidance notes have been prepared to assist persons in the preparation of an application for a licence to discharge effluent to sewer.

Group Schemes

Community groups also may produce drinking water. These schemes are called Group Water Supply Schemes. These schemes are operated and managed by the Group. A Group can consist of as few as 2 residences. Such groups in this county, receive subsidies from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

Treatment System (Septic Tank) Registration

Information and Registration details are available from the Environment Section on Water Treatment Systems (Septic Tanks).

This covers applications for connections as well as grants available to assist in the costs of repairs to, and upgrading or replacement of, such treatment systems, where
the works arise directly from an inspection.
