'When you see water', a poetic stroll through Dromineer with poet Eleanor Hooker, a self-directed walk with map and audio recording of Eleanor's readings.
Poetry has come to the rescue for many in recent times. How many of us have recently run into a poem and thought that's exactly how I feel? Lots of us have been walking; some of us taking the time to enjoy all that the natural world offers us in abundance. On Culture Night, join us as we bring these two , now regular features of our lives together in a poetic walk through beautiful Dromineer, on the shores of Lough Derg, the lowest and largest lake on the River Shannon, itself an artery that runs its course the length of the island of Ireland. Dromineer poet Eleanor Hooker will lead us on a lyrical wander by the lakeshore, her natural habitat as a poet, as a lover of the lake, its surrounds, its history and above all, as a source of much of her writing
If you missed this event on Culture Night, a self directed walk can be experienced with our interactive map which includes recordings of Eleanor’s readings.
