Going Digital Spring Series 2021

Spring into 2021 with a follow on Digital Skills Programme for Tipperary Artists and Creative Practitioners

Calling Art Practitioners, Heritage Experts and Community Facilitators in County Tipperary

Following the hugely successful ‘Going Digital Workshops’ with Michael Fortune from folklore.ie last summer, we are delighted to announce a new Spring programme for Creative Practitioners in Co. Tipperary. The new programme has been devised and produced as part of The Tipperary Arts Office Programme and is an ideal way for participants to build on skills developed during the recent introductory course, over a longer programme and is also open to new participants to develop new skills. The programme will be delivered online, via Zoom.
The programme commences on Thursday evenings (7-8.30pm)from 4th February and runs until 22nd April 2021. During this time Michael will deliver a programme based on identified needs. Participants will get a chance to produce digital work using newly developed skills in a supportive and creative setting.

During the 12-week course, participants will revisit the skills learned on the introductory course (or if new to this course will learn new skills) and will apply these to personal projects and produce a series of new digital works. These will include 4 projects.

* Produce a short documentary based on an object or objects in your life using your phone to record and edit
* Make a digital map and film, using online and local resources using screen recording techniques, filming and editing.
* Devise and produce a series of stop-motion animations and time-lapse films using your phone. Edit final films with titles and sounds.
* Record and edit a themed tutorial and interview on your phone. This can be about your own work, local history, folklore etc

Michael will also be available to conduct one -on-one sessions with people based on their individual needs. During the weekly sessions, participants will progress with their fellow peers, share ideas and offer suggestions etc.
Michael has worked in this manner for almost 20 years and works as a lecturer on the Digital Media Module in the Education Department of Limerick School of Art and Design.
