About the Environment & Climate Action Section

The Environment & Climate Action Section is responsible for developing and implementing environmental protection policies and services aimed at enhancing and maintaining our environment. These include Environment Protection, Infrastructure and Maintenance, Waste Management & Enforcement, Community Services, Environment Awareness, Energy & Climate Action.

Tipperary County Councils role in Tourism

Tipperary County Council has adopted a pro-active strategic approach to the development of the tourism sector in the county. The council in conjunction with Tipperary Tourism Company works towards achieving the objectives set out in the Strategic Tourism Marketing, Experience & Destination Development Plan 2016-2021 .

Tipperary County Council is pleased to announce that Donohill Recycling Centre is now back fully open Monday to Saturday following the completion of improvement works at the site.

The Environment & Climate Action Information Trailer was in O Connell St Clonmel today 30th May distributing information on the green environment and household waste disposal. Mutt Mitts bags were given out to members of the public as a deterrent to dog fouling on the streets. The trailer will be visiting other towns in the coming weeks.

98 students from Scoil Mhuire Naingeal Clonmel visited Carrigeen Recycling Centre today 17th June, 2019. They were given a detailed tour of the Recycling Centre and shown a DVD on the whole area of recycling and how landfills operate.
