About the Environment & Climate Action Section

The Environment & Climate Action Section is responsible for developing and implementing environmental protection policies and services aimed at enhancing and maintaining our environment. These include Environment Protection, Infrastructure and Maintenance, Waste Management & Enforcement, Community Services, Environment Awareness, Energy & Climate Action.

New recycling lists

A new household recycling list has been developed to keep up with international standards in recycling by the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment (https://www.dccae.gov.ie/en-ie/Pages/default.aspx).

Radon Advice

Radon is a radioactive gas which originates from the decay of uranium in rocks and soils. It is colourless, odourless and tasteless and can only be measured using special detectors.

Spring is in the air and Tipperary is alive to the sounds of Tidy towns groups. Starting in the month of March, the environment Section of Tipperary County Council are supporting the fabulous work of the volunteers of Tipperary, by holding wildlife and environmental workshops.

Bulky Items Collection Service for Householders in Tipperary Town


Tipperary County Council propose to carry out a collection of bulky waste goods, from householders in Tipperary Town, by appointment.

A charge of €10 for bulky items and €20 for three piece suites will be made. The charge must be paid prior to collection at Civic Offices, Rosanna Road, Tipperary.

Donohill Recycling Centre

Tipperary County Council is pleased to announce that Donohill Recycling Centre is now back fully open Monday to Saturday following the completion of improvement works at the site.
