Community and Economic Development

The Community & Economic Development Section of Tipperary County Council is involved in further developing and sustaining the wellbeing of our communities through economic development, enterprise development, community development, promoting social inclusion principles and further developing the cultural and recreational areas.

Community Safety & Tipperary County Joint Policing Committee

The Garda Síochána Act 2005 (Section 36) provides for the establishment of a Joint Policing Committee (JPC) in each local authority. The purpose of these committees is to provide a forum where a local authority and the senior Garda Officers responsible for policing that area can consult, discuss and make recommendations on matters of policing that area.

Tipperary Public Participation Network

Tipperary County Council has been selected as a Pilot Local Authority for the implementation of the PPN Structure. Each local authority must adopt the framework for public participation in local government, which will set out the mechanisms by which citizens and communities will be encouraged and supported to participate in the decision-making processes of the local authority.

What is a Men’s Shed?

  • A Men’s Shed is a dedicated, friendly and welcoming meeting place where men come together and undertake a variety of mutually agreed activities.

    Men’s Sheds are open to all men regardless of age, background or ability. It is a place where you can share your skills and knowledge with others, learn new skills and develop your old skills.
