DECISION TO CLOSE THE M8 MOTORWAY BETWEEN JUNCION 7, JUNCTION 8 AND JUNCTION 9, CASHEL, CO. TIPPERARY.

NOTICE is hereby given that Tipperary County Council has made an Order closing:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED:
Closure 1: M8 Motorway Closed Southbound at Junction 8 on the 10 and 11 of May 2022.

Closure 2: M8 Motorway Closed Northbound at Junction 9 on the 12 and 13 of May 2022

Closure 3: M8 Motorway Closed Southbound at Junction 7 on the 23, 24, 25 of May and the 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 of June 2022.

Closure 4: M8 Motorway Closed Northbound at Junction 8 on the 26, 27, 30 of May and on the 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22 of June 2022

Closure 5: M8 Motorway Junction 7 off-slip Southbound closed on the 19 and 20 of May 2022

PERIOD OF CLOSURE:
From 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs on the dates above.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:
Closure 1 Diversion: Diversion from Junction 8 Southbound via M8 Junction 8, onto the Upper Green, through Main Street and Cahir Road in Cashel and re-join the M8 at Junction 9.

Closure 2 Diversion: Diversion from Junction 9 (Cashel) Northbound via M8 Junction 9, on to the R639 North through Cahir Road, Main Street, turn right onto the Friar Street, continue to Upper Green and re-join the M8 at Junction 8.

Closure 3 Diversion: Diversion from Junction 7 Southbound via M8 Junction 7, onto the R639 South via the Dublin Road, Main Street turn left onto the Friar Street, continue to Upper Green and re-join the M8 at Junction 8.

Closure 4 Diversion: Diversion from Junction 8 (Cashel) Northbound via M8 Junction 8, onto the Upper Green, through Main Street and Dublin Road in Cashel onto the R639 North and re-join the M8 at Junction 7.

Closure 5 Diversion: Diversion from Junction 7 off-slip Southbound on the M8 Motorway to Junction 8, turning back onto the Northbound carriageway in Junction 8, heading Northbound on the M8 and exiting in Junction 7 Northbound.

REASON FOR CLOSURE:
To facilitate resurfacing and road marking works.
