National Tree Week

Tipperary County Council are proud to support National Tree Week each year. Tipperary County Council will distribute trees to schools and Tidy Towns from 21st March to 27th March for National Tree Week 2020.

Countryside Wild on Flowers Initiative

Environment and Climate Action Staff will be giving out FREE packs of Wildflower Seeds next week at the following marts;-

Tipperary Mart - 6TH March, 2020 from 10.00am
Cashel Mart – 7th March, 2020 from 11.00am

290 groups in Tipperary getting ready for Spring Clean

The National Spring Clean is Ireland’s largest anti-litter initiative and takes place from the 8th - 20th June.

Tipperary County Council in association with An Taisce is delighted to support community groups and volunteers who give of their time and effort to organise clean-up events in towns and villages across the county.

Gum Litter Awareness Campaign

Cathaoirleach, Michael Smith of Tipperary launched 2021 Gum Litter Taskforce Campaign on Thursday, 10th June, at Lismackin National School

The campaign looks to build on the success of previous years as the percentage of gum as a proportion of litter has dropped by 64% since the campaign began.

What to do with my soft plastics

Why are soft plastics now allowed to be placed in my recycling bin?

There are two reasons:

Improvements to facilities along with
Emergence of new markets.
In Ireland we collect all recyclables in the same bin and the sorting of all these materials take place at a recycling facility.

Tipperary County Council’s Environment & Climate Action Section extended a challenge to the people of Tipperary, to use their imaginations and get creative to make something new from what would otherwise have ended up as waste.
