National Recycling Week takes place during the first week in October each year. This is a national awareness campaign led by REPAK and supported by each Local Authority in the County. National Recycling Week aims to remind the public why recycling is import and how recycling can reduce our impact on the environment. A competition is run each year with primary schools.
Tipperary County Council are proud to support National Tree Week each year. Tipperary County Council will distribute trees to schools and Tidy Towns from 21st March to 27th March for National Tree Week 2020.
Environmental Public Awareness Trailer out in Fethard on 7th August, 2019
Tipperary County Council's Environment Section staff were out in Fethard on Wednesday, 7th August, 2019 and today in Thurles Town distributing information on the green environment and household waste disposal. Mutt Mitts bags were given out to members of the public as a deterrent to dog fouling on the streets.
International E-Waste Day returns for a second year on Mon 14th October. WEEE Schemes in over 40 countries worldwide will work collectively to raise awareness about the correct disposal of electrical and electronic equipment to enable reuse and recycling.
