Litter Enforcement

The Litter Pollution Act, 1997, as amended by the Waste Management (Amendment) Act 2001 and the Protection of the Environment Act 2003, introduced strong penalties in Ireland to help combat the problems of litter pollution more effectively.

Environmental Complaints

Environmental complaints arise from issues that pose a threat to the environment, a threat to health or an adverse impact on nature, amenity and lifestyle.

They come under a number of categories such as:

Waste Management Bye Laws 2018

Tipperary County Council, pursuant to Section 35(1) of the Waste Management Act 1996 and Section 199(1) of the Local Government Act 2001 and in accordance with Part 19 of the Local Government Act 2001, hereby makes the following bye-laws: Tipperary (Waste Management) Bye-laws, 2018

These bye-laws shall enter into operation on the 11th of October 2018.

National Tree Week - 31st March -7th April, 2019

National Tree Week 2019 runs from March 31st – 7th April 2019. 1350 trees have been distributed to Schools/Tidy Towns Groups/Development Associations by Environment Staff this week. As well as trees given out this week to groups, 150 boxes of wildflower seeds were also allocated to groups who requested same.
