Renewable Energy and Tipperary

Tipperary Energy Agency

The Tipperary Energy Agency was established in 1998 by Tipperary County Council and Tipperary Institute (now LIT Tipperary), as an independent social enterprise to enable people, communities and the public sector to become more sustainable in their energy use. From humble beginnings with just one employee, the agency is now a strong team of 24 persons.

Renewable Energy Strategy

Did you know that in terms of county output Tipperary is the 4th largest producer of energy from wind in Ireland? See more at http://www.iwea.com/. In addition to wind energy, Tipperary has huge energy potential in terms of energy from biomass sources and energy from the sun.
