The True Cost Screening 11th - 14th October
Green-Schools is hosting a free virtual screening of the groundbreaking documentary The True Cost – a must see for all secondary students.
This film pulls back the curtain on the untold story and asks us to consider: who really pays the price for our clothing? Filmed in countries all over the world, from the brightest runways to the darkest slums, the film features interviews with the world’s leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth and Vandana Shiva.
Register your class for this free event here and watch it free for 72 hours from 9am Monday 11 October. They have also organised a follow-up Fashion Fix webinar which will be hosted by Fionnuala Moran, Radio Presenter at RTE Pulse, with special guests Nathalie Pavone, Climate Ambassador, and Kelly Dalton, Co-Founder of The Right Project. The Fashion Fix webinar will take place after the screening at 10am on Thursday 14 October.
Storytime for Junior Primary 13th October
Green-Schools is delighted to present the storybook, ‘We Want Our Park Back’, written and illustrated by Oisín McGann for ages 4 to 8. Register for this free event by October 4th and they will post your school a giant book! The e-copy and accompanying teacher’s resource book with 28 pages of colourful lesson plans, can both be downloaded from the Green-Schools website. Tune in to Green-Schools HQ via your interactive whiteboard at 10am on Wednesday 13th October for Storytime, Ask the Author and Draw with Oisín! A Short Hopeful Talk about Climate Change for Senior Primary 13th October
Green-Schools is delighted to present best-selling and award-winning writer and illustrator Oisín McGann. He was the Irish writer-in-residence for Weather Stations, an EU-funded project where writers from five different countries were tasked with finding ways to use storytelling to raise awareness of climate change. He is sure to entertain your class with his dramatic and funny explanations of temperature, atmosphere, climate, carbon, and the delicate balance that is the Greenhouse Effect. This talk is at 1pm on Wednesday 13th October and is suitable for ages 10 to 12 (and maybe a nerdy 9!). Register here for the event

Submissions can be a drawing, photograph, text or other creative expression. Images should be square in shape and a maximum size of 2MB. Submit email@example.com before midnight on October 10th along with your name, age, contact details and description of your entry.
