A meeting, hosted by the Local Authority Water Programme (LAWPRO), will be held in Cappawhite Community Centre on Thursday, October 24th at 7:00pm to discuss a proposed eradication programme for an infestation of Giant Hogweed along sections of the Toem, Cappawhite and Cahernahaille tributaries of the upper Mulkear/Dead River catchment in the Cappawhite area.
The presence of Giant Hogweed can have a serious impact on water quality, ecology and biodiversity. Through its Farming for Water programme, LAWPRO, in partnership with Tipperary County Council and other stakeholder partners, will oversee a professionally undertaken eradication programme.
Farmers, landowners, property owners, community groups, agencies, stakeholders and locals are all invited to the meeting where full details of the programme will be revealed. So please, spread the word and come along to Cappawhite Community Centre on Thursday, October 24th at 7:00pm.
