Keep Tipp Tidy Campaign
The Keep Tipp Tidy Campaign supports the Litter Management Plan by highlighting through various initiatives how members of the public can play their part in reducing littering on our roads, report illegal dumping in the countryside and dog fouling.
Awareness initiatives undertaken include Roadside Litter, engagement with fast food outlets, community clean ups, dog fouling prevention and the public awareness trailer.
The Roadside Litter Campaign was rolled out in Nenagh and Clonmel. Keep Tipp Tidy signs were erected on the approach roads into the towns and engaging with fast food outlet staff to encourage people to dispose of their litter responsibly.
One Day Clean Up
A one day litter pick blitz was organised in March. Ninety Four community groups registered through the PPN to participate in the clean-up day.
Packs were provided and collection arrangements provided for the disposal of 5.78 tons waste collected.
Dog Fouling Prevention
The Summer Anti-Dog Fouling campaign was rolled out in Clonmel and Nenagh and will extend to the remaining districts in 2020.
Working with the MD’s, 60 anti-fouling signs were erected across the county.
Mobile pop up stands promoting anti-dog fouling prevention were placed in areas of high footfall around the county (e.g. Post Offices, Credit Unions, Tesco, and Supervalu.) Additionally, early morning and late evening patrols were also carried out by the dog wardens in reported areas.
