Odour Incident at Tipperary Co-op waste water treatment plant (IE Reg P0801-01)
Tipperary Co-Op Creamery operates under an Industrial Emissions Licence which is monitored by the EPA (Ref: IE Reg P0801-01)
The EPA is responsible for enforcement of any non-compliance with regard to the emission licence under which Tipperary Co-Op operates.
Since January Tipperary Co-Op Creamery has had issues with regard to their wastewater treatment process.
This has resulted in the release of offensive odorous emissions which impacted on Tipperary Town and the wider community.
Tipperary County Council Environment and Climate Action section has been in regular contact with Tipperary Co-Op, the EPA and Irish Water in an effort to put permanent corrective action in place.
The EPA has confirmed that the issues regarding Tipperary Co-Op creamery are being progressed and have indicated a completion date of Mid May

Tipperary County Council has received numerous complaints from the public regarding the associated odours.
All of these complaints have and will going forward be directed to the EPA for follow-up.
