Senior Executive Librarian

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following position: Senior Executive Librarian Salary Scale: €55,847 – €72,602 (2nd LSI) Starting pay for all new entrants will be at the minimum of the scale. Panels will be created from which both permanent and temporary positions, where appropriate, may be offered during the lifetime of the panels. Preferably the successful candidate will demonstrate that he/she holds/has:- • Leadership and management ability • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • People management and team membership skills • Change management and project management skills 5 | P a g e • Knowledge of current issues and future direction of Libraries and Local Government • Commitment to the public interest • Satisfactory IT skills including knowledge and understanding of relevant technical ICT packages • Current, full, clean Class B drivers licence and access to own car

Education, Training, Experience, etc. Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms: (i) Hold a degree (level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications) in the area of Library and Information Studies, (ii) Have satisfactory experience at a management level.
