Tipperary County Council launched a “one clean up day blitz” in the county for Sunday, 10th March, 2019 in the Carrigeen Civic Amenity site on the 28th February.
The launched was attended by the Cathaoirleach Cllr Mattie Ryan, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Joe Mac Grath, representatives from the Clonmel, Roscrea, Cashel and Cahir Tidy Town Committees. Our co sponsors for the event are the Tipperary Public Participation Network and An Taisce.
This is a very exciting campaign to hit Tipperary and we are asking people of Tipperary to come out in force to do their bit to clean up the environment. The event requires a few hours of everyone’s time on that day and getting involved is great fun as well as being very worthwhile. This will be of great assistance to our Tidy Town committees in their endeavours for the 2019 Tidy Towns Competition.
Tipperary County Council is assisting all groups by providing litter pickers, gloves, bags and high vests. Any group interested in taking part in this fantastic worthwhile project is asked to register with An Taisce and with Tipperary County Council’s Environment Section. Please contact Anne Marie Clifford at 0761-06-5691 with any queries.
