Wonderful news with the announcement that Tipperary County Council’s application for funding for ’Nenagh Historic & Cultural Quarter - A Tourism-led Regeneration Plan’ has been successful under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund. This application was in partnership with Fáilte Ireland, the Office of Public Works and the Department of Culture, Heritage & the Gaeltacht.
The funding will provide the seed capital to allow the design and planning phase of the project to proceed and to develop plans to the stage where works are able to commence once funding is secured. It will also provide a ready-made pipeline to further funding through a Category 1 application to the Fund.
The primary focus will be on the development of the three flagship pillars - Nenagh Gaol, Nenagh Castle and Banba Square and how they can collectively offer an immersive tourism experience.
In total the funding available for this phase will be €866,712.
