Application to An Bord Pleanala for Newport Town Park

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 (AS AMENDED)
NOTICE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
Pursuant to the requirements of Section 177AE(4)(a) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) notice is hereby given that Tipperary County Council proposes to seek approval of An Bord Pleanála to carry out the following development at Mulkear View, Tullow, Newport, Co. Tipperary:
Nature of Development
Town Park incorporating:
a) Children’s play area
b) Specifically designed play equipment for use by people with a disability
c) Zip wire
d) Outdoor gym equipment
e) Pump Track
f) Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA)
g) Recreational walkways
h) Seating
i) Appropriate signage
j) Interpretative panels
k) Landscaping
l) Car parking

The footprint of the proposed project is within a Special Area of Conservation, namely SAC 002165 Lower River Shannon.

A Natura Impact Statement has been prepared in respect of the proposed development. An Bord Pleanála may give approval for the development with or without conditions, or may refuse the application for development.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development together with the Natura Impact Statement will be available for inspection, free of charge, at Nenagh Municipal District Offices, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) for a period from Monday 12th November 2018 to Thursday 3rd January 2019. A copy may be purchased at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy.
Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development, if carried out, relating to:
I. The implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development in the area concerned,
II. The likely effects on the environment of the proposed development, and
III. The likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European site,
