Community smoke Alarm Scheme

As a minimum requirement it is essential that smoke alarms are fitted in the hall and landing of every home.
It is the aim of Tipperary Fire & Rescue Service to increase the number of smoke alarms in homes across Tipperary to meet the minimum standard. We aim to provide and install smoke alarms to the most vulnerable. If you require a smoke alarm please inform a member of your community group/ organisation who can in turn contact the Fire Service on your behalf, a member of the fire service will then be in contact with you to arrange installation of your smoke alarm.
REMEMBER – Smoke, not heat or flame cause most fire deaths. It can take as little as three minutes to die from breathing smoke. Smoke alarms save lives.
