Tipperary County Council (TCC) is a partner in the EU Erasmus+ Programme co-funded project called INTERFACE. There are a further five organisations involved as partners in the project from Iceland, Greece, Italy and Bulgaria. “INTERFACE” stands for “Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Fragile Communities in Europe”.
The “Fragile Communities” approach stems from Iceland, where this bottom-up approach was applied in various communities affected by high levels of depopulation. The main idea is to stimulate and activate community resources, by developing a grassroots process involving an education/training programme for community people who could subsequently act as “coaches” within their respective communities.
As part of its involvement in the INTERFACE project, TCC, in partnership with PPN Tipperary and Limerick Institute of Technology, is hosting a series of masterclasses running 1 night per week over a 4 week period from 12th February 2019. Each session, starting at 7pm, will last approx. 1½ hours and includes a learning presentation (the “theory” presented in an engaging manner) and a related case study talk from a community development perspective.
Interested persons are welcome to attend a single session, a number of sessions or the whole block of four sessions. Prior registration for each session is required.
See attached Programme for full details of the Masterclass Series.
