Part 8 Planning Process
The Ormond Castle Park is an important historic area associated with Ormond Castle, and is a significant amenity and tourism asset for the town. Carrick on Suir Municipal District has prepared a draft design scheme to upgrade the Park for the benefit of local people and visitors to Carrick on Suir. The objective is to review the ecological, biodiversity and physical components, and propose how these may be enhanced, whilst also raising awareness of the Park in general. Tipperary County Council is a partner to the ‘All Ireland Pollinator Plan’ and supports the development of places, in conjunction with local communities, where pollinators can survive and thrive. See more here https://pollinators.ie/councils/. The proposed enhancement of the Park forms part of an overall regeneration plan for Carrick on Suir.
The input of local community groups, residents’ associations, stakeholders and schools is now sought to assist in the preparation of proposals for this exciting initiative.
