Proposed Development at Dillon Bridge, Carrick on Suir

In accordance with Section 177AE (4)(a) of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, notice is hereby given that Tipperary County Council proposes to seek the approval of An Bord Pleanála to carry out the following development to Dillon Bridge, in Carrick-On-Suir, Co. Tipperary:

a) Cleaning, repair and repainting of the metal parapets on spans 5, 6 & 7
b) Replacement of carriageway surface course
c) Replacement of carriageway joints above piers 4 & 7;
d) Repair of footpaths;
e) Removal of spalled concrete from soffits of beams and deck on spans 5, 6 & 7, the application of the spalled areas;
f) Provision of scour protection to the upstream half of piers 5 & 6.

Dillon Bridge is included on the Record of Protected Structures Ref 1.29 in the Carrick on Suir Town Development Plan 2013, as varied.
A Natura Impact Statement has been prepared in respect of the proposed development. An Bord Pleanála may give approval for the development with or without conditions, or may refuse the application for development.

The Natura Impact Statement prepared in respect of the proposed development will be available for inspection by members of the public at Carrick-on-Suir Munipical District Office, Tipperary County Council, New Street, Carrick-On-Suir, Co. Tipperary during the hours of 9:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays for a period from Monday, 28 January 2019 to Monday, 11 March 2019. The Natura Impact Statement may be inspected free of charge or purchased.

Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development, if carried out, relating to:
I. The implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development in the area concerned,
II. The likely effects on the environment of the proposed development, and
III. The likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European site,
may be made in writing within the period specified above (between Monday, 28 January 2019 and Monday, 11 March 2019) to An Bord Pleanála to the following address:
