Tipperary County Council wishes to reiterate the arrangements regarding vehicular access to St Patrick’s Cemetery Clonmel.
As the new cemetery car park and entrance off St Patrick’s Road is now open to the public only authorised vehicles will be permitted to enter the main sections of the cemetery where grave plots are located.
These will include funeral corteges and monuments contractors that have the necessary permits and have submitted insurances and health and safety documentation to the council.
Disabled parking bays are provided within the new car park and in close proximity to the new section of the cemetery.
In very exceptional circumstances the council may consider a request to make provision for access to a grave plot from an individual who has a severe mobility issue where it is not feasible for them to use a wheelchair or other mobility aids to access the cemetery and where there may be minimal support from their family and friends.
In the interest of clarity there is no automatic entitlement for blue badge holders and any person seeking permission will need to apply in writing to the Clonmel Borough District Offices.
