Water Supply Outage Dundrum Regional Water Supply Scheme

Please be advised that issues have arisen overnight at the Dundrum Regional Water Supply Scheme water treatment plant, located at Stook, Rossmore. These issues are related to the recent spells of inclement weather associated with a series of storm events. Unfortunately, a significant watermain rupture has also manifested itself on the raw water intake from the water supply source (from the Turraheen River). Despite the best efforts of Water Services staff overnight, it has been necessary to shut down the plant. Consequently, the following areas will experience a loss of supply:

Rossmore; Carhue; Marlow Bridge; Clonoulty; Ballagh; Ardmayle; Cloneyharp; Bishopswood; Boherlahan; Tuberadora; Killough; Camus; Thurlesbeg; Gooldscross; Laffina; Clondarby; Longfield; and The Weir; and surrounding areas.

A watermain repair crew is on site and it is expected that the rupture will be repaired by early afternoon.

However, due to the location and the challenges presented in restoring the water treatment plant to full production, water will not be restored to some areas until tonight and some areas will continue to experience low pressure for the next 24 to 36 hours.

Water containers will be in place at the primary schools at Rossmore, Clonoulty and Boherlahan by mid-morning.

Water Services, as the agent of Irish Water, wishes to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by this water outage.
