Tipperary County Council’s Severe Weather Team met this morning to review the position in relation to the overall impact of Storm Lorenzo across County Tipperary. The situation wasn’t as bad as was feared. There were a few incidents of fallen trees but no significant issues reported across the County.
Following the meeting this morning, it was decided to stand down the Severe Weather Team as there are no current severe weather warnings in place for Tipperary. While further heavy rain is forecast for Saturday, there should be dry spells on Sunday before heavy rain again on Monday. Next week will be unsettled but rains should ease after Monday. Motorists are urged to drive with care as heavy rain, coupled with falling leaves may block drains and gullies, leading to surface folding.
Tipperary County Council wishes to express our sincere thanks to the members of the public and local media for their very significant co-operation throughout the course of this severe weather event.
