Adopted Budget 2015

Introduction

This is the first Draft Annual Budget to be considered by the Members of Tipperary County Council since the implementation of the local government reform programme. The preparation of the Draft Budget has been challenging requiring detailed assessment of the budgets of the 2 former County Councils, 1 Borough Council, 6 Town Councils and Joint Library Committee. In addition, a number of legislative changes were introduced by the Local Government Reform Act, 2014 to the budgetary process, which can be summarised in four

steps as follows:

Step 1: Decision by the Council on the adjustment factor to the Local Property Tax (LPT) following a public consultation process. Decision made at the Council Meeting on the 22nd September, 2014.

Step 2: Allocation of the General Municipal Allocations (GMA) Decision made at Borough/District Meetings in the w/c 6th October, 2014.

Step 3: Consultation with the Corporate Policy Group (CPG) and Adoption of the Draft Budget by Council. CPG Meeting held on 3rd November, 2014. Budget Meeting scheduled for the 24th November, 2014

Step 4: Consideration and adoption of the schedule of Municipal Works by each of the Borough/Municipal Districts. Borough/Municipal District Meetings to be convened following the adoption of the Budget.
