Civil Defence is an organisation comprising membership made up of 'VOLUNTEERS'. Membership is open to Female and Male volunteers between the age of 18 and 65. It is necessary to complete and Application Form for consideration and in the event of vacancy being available every consideration will be given to each application. New Volunteers complete an initial probation period of twelve month and may sign on for three year periods thereafter. In the event of volunteer not being in a position to attend training, attend duties assigned etc., membership will be deemed to have elapsed. As some training/disciplines are quite strenuous it may be necessary to ask applicants to undergo medical examination to confirm their suitability.

Would you like to be part of a missing persons Search/Rescue/Recovery Team?
Have you specific skills such as First Aid/Fire/Orienteering/Hill Walking Radio Communications/Boating/Kayaking etc., etc., which could be put to good use?
