Burial Ground Maintenance Grant 2024

Tipperary County Council recognises and supports the excellent work carried out by voluntary groups around the county who undertake to maintain and manage local graveyards/ burial grounds.

In 2023, Tipperary County Council supported 263 Burial Ground Maintenance Committees through the allocation of grants totalling €188,371.

Burial Ground Committees are awarded grants, which are determined by the number of applications received and the funding available each year.

Grant Qualifying Criteria:

  • Committees must be registered with the Tipperary Public Participation Network 
  • Provide a copy of their current bank statement.

All applications received for the 2024 Burial Ground Maintenance Grant will be assessed during the Summer of 2024.

Closing date for completed applications is Friday 15th March, 2024.

All works in burial grounds under this scheme must comply with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage Requirements.These are detailed in a booklet called “Guidance for the Care, Conservation and Recording Historic Graveyards” available by following the link outlined below.
