Fire Charges

The following list are the Scale of Charges associated with various incidences that the Fire Brigade attend:

  1. Attendance at a fire (other than a chimney fire) or other incident in a domestic premises or caravan - €450.00 per hour from departure from Fire Station to return to Fire Station and close down.
  2. Fires and other incidents in non'domestic premises - actual cost, plus 30%.
  3. Chimney Fire in domestic premises - €250.00 - Landlord to be charged in private rented.
  4. Attendance at private rented accommodation - Landlord to be charged at €450.00 per hour.
  5. Attendance at RAS Scheme accommodation - Landlord to be charged at €450.00 per hour.
  6. Attendance at road based incidents - €750.00 per hour.
  7. Call outs to other Fire Authority areas and Semi State Companies - actual cost, inclusive of overheads, plus 30% unless otherwise specified by written agreement.
  8. All other fires and services not covered under paragraphs I,2,4 and 5 - €750.00 per hour per brigade from departure from Fire Station to return to Fire Station and close down, subject to a maximum of €10,000.00 in the case of a hay barn fire, subject to a maximum of €1,700 in the case of a domestic fire and subject to a maximum of €20,000 in the case of a commercial incident.
  9. The charge to be levied in each case under paragraphs 1, 2, 4 and 5 shall be subject to a minimum charge of €750.00 in each case.
  10. Charges may be waived in any particular case where the Fire Authority is satisfied that such waiving is warranted.
  11. This schedule of charges shall be effective from 1st October 2019.
  12. Domestic Fires where the property is on RAS Scheme will be billed to the Landlord.
  13. Domestic Fires where the property is privately rented will be billed to the Landlord.

Local Property Tax

An annual self-assessed Local Property Tax (LPT) charged on the market value of all residential properties in the State came into effect with the passing of the Finance (Local Property Tax) Act 2012 . It is being administered by Revenue and a half-year charge applied in 2013. A full year charge applies in 2014.

Non Principal Private Residence Charge

The Local Government (Charges) Act 2009, as amended by the Local Government (Household Charge) Act 2011, introduced a €200 annual charge on non-principal private residences, payable by the owners to the local authority in whose area the property concerned is located. This charge was regardless of whether the owner was renting elsewhere or was living outside of Ireland.

Please note that the liability for NPPR for the liability dates: 31/7/2009, 31/03/2010, 31/03/2011 has expired under Section 7(2) of the Local Government (Charges) Bill 2009.

Payments for NPPR can be made as follows:

  • Pay online at www.nppr.ie using your credit/debit card.

Alternatively, the form can be downloaded, completed and forwarded with payment made payable to NPPR (cheque/bank draft/postal order only) to NPPR, PO Box 11654, Dublin 8.

Pay Motor Tax Online is a secure service provided by Ireland's local authorities and the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport.

A facility called "PIN Retrieval" has been added to www.motortax.ie for customers who have not received a reminder or have lost their reminder to go online and retrieve their PIN.

The customer must enter their registration number and address as it appears on their Vehicle Registration Certificate and enter an e-mail address where the PIN will then be sent.

These amounts plus 50% will apply if paid within the next 28 day period.

  • In person at any Tipperary County Council office during the opening hours 9.30a.m. to 4.30p.m. Monday to    Friday inclusive.
  • By post to Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary or to Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Clonmel Co. Tipperary  Cheques should be crossed and made payable to “Tipperary County Council” and the parking fine should accompany payment.
  • By Phone during the opening hours 9.30a.m. to 4.30p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive by calling +353 (0)818 06 5000 and ask to be put through to the cash desk.
  • Pay Online

Payment can be made online. You will need the following:

  • Vehicle Registration Number (Licence plate number)
  • Parking Fine Offence Number (Ticket number)
  • Credit/Debit Card Details
