Decision To Close Junction 5 and Junction 6 on the M8 Motorway Co. Tipperary As A Matter Of Urgency

NOTICE is hereby given that Tipperary County Council has made an Order closing:

ROAD TO
BE CLOSED: • M8 Junction 6 at Horse and Jockey to be closed at nightly on the 20th, 21st , 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 27th of May and re-opened during the days.

• M8 Junction 5 at Two-Mile-Borris to be closed daily on the 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st of May during days and re-opened for the nights.
PERIOD OF
CLOSURE: Junction 6 Horse and Jockey –
From 20.00hrs to 06.00hrs on the 21st, 22nd,23rd,24th & 27th of May 2024

Junction 5 Two-Mile-Borris –
08.00hrs to 18.00hrs on the 27th,28th,29th, 30th & 31st of May 2024

ALTERNATIVE
ROUTES: Junction 6: The N62 traffic through Junction 6 diverted via L4106 and the M8 mainline traffic diverted through Junction 5 Southbound via Two-Mile-Borris back to the R639 and Junction 7 on the R639 in the Northbound direction.

Junction 5: M8 mainline traffic Southbound diverted to Junction 6 and traffic joining the M8 Northbound diverted through Two-Mile-Borris onto the R639, then to Junction 4.
REASON FOR CLOSURE: Resurfacing Works

Temporary Traffic Management for road resurfacing works on the L6510-0 Kilcash Castle to N76

Temporary Traffic Management on the L-6309-0 Prospect to Crossard, Co.Tipperary.
From 07.00hrs to 19.00hrs on the 10th of May 2024 for surface dressing works.
Local access will be maintained and Diversions will be in place as the works progress.

Temporary Traffic Management on the L-6307-0 Coolnaure, Co.Tipperary.
From the 13 May 2024 to the 14 May 2024 for surface dressing works.
From 07.00hrs to 19.00hrs for the duration of the works.
Local access will be maintained and Diversions will be in place as the works progress

Temporary Closure of the the Abbey Street/Friary Car Park, Clonmel, Co.Tipperary.
From the 13 of May 2024 to the 14 October 2024 to facilitate refurbishment works.
Alternative parking available at Suir Island Car Park.

Temporary Traffic Management on the L-6301-0 Everardsgrange, Co.Tipperary.
From the 09 May 2024 to the 10 May 2024 for road resurfacing.
From 07.00hrs to 19.00hrs for the duration of the works.
Local access will be maintained and Diversions will be in place as the works progress.

Temporary Traffic Management on the L-5110 Leugh, Cappawhite, Co.Tipperary.
From the 08 May 2024 to the 10 May 2024 for resurfacing works.
From 07.30hrs to 19.00hrs for the duration of the works.
Diversions via L-5111, R-505 & L-5112. Local Access Only.

From the 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs on the 08 May 2024 for road resurfacing.

From the 09 May 2024 to the 17 May 2024 for road resurfacing.
