Local authorities run initiatives to provide accessible services for people with disabilities. These services include accessible parking, disability friendly sports facilities, accessible bring banks and recycling units, and assistive technology.
Local authorities may provide grants to those who own their own home to buy and install grab rails, level access showers, access ramps and stair lifts.
Children and Young People’s Services Committees (CYPSC) are a key structure identified by Government to plan and co-ordinate services for children and young people in every county in Ireland. The overall purpose is to improve outcomes for children and young people through local and national interagency working.
