Orange wind warning in place for Tipperary: -
- Wind warning bringing very strong and gusty southerly gusts with some severe and damaging gusts. Valid 09.00 – 17.00 Wednesday 27/09/2023.
Yellow rain warning in place for Tipperary which will lead to difficult travel conditions, localised flooding and poor visibility.
Met Eireann weather warnings will be monitored in the event
The Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team met this morning to assess the situation and to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place in advance of this severe weather event. All emergency repair crews and contractors will be on standby and ready to deal with any emergencies.
The Council wishes to advise the public to prepare for power outages, fallen trees and difficult travel conditions. Householders urged to take precautions by securing all outdoor furniture and leisure items such as trampolines and goal posts.
Motorists are advised not to make any unnecessary journeys during the orange events and should exercise extreme caution because of the danger posed by localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions/disruption, structural damage, falling trees.
We urge you to pay attention to weather bulletins and updates from the Council.
Arrangements have been made to issue an advisory through the local media today and to update the Tipperary County Council website. The position will continue to be monitored by the Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team.
