PRESS RELEASE

Tipperary County Council warmly welcomes “The Lunch Bag” announcement on the creation of 240 additional jobs for Nenagh.

Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council, Councillor Ger Darcy and Cathaoirleach of Nenagh Municipal District Councillor John Rocky McGrath today welcomed the announcement on the creation of an additional 240 jobs at “The Lunch Bag” located at Lisbunny Business Park in Nenagh.

Councillor Ger Darcy said that “this is a very significant announcement and a strong vote of confidence in Nenagh and County Tipperary.  Tipperary County Council is delighted to have played our part in enabling this investment. In 2021 the Council made a decision to sell a 3.6-acre site to The Lunch Bag which is now facilitating this expansion. My congratulations to Ray Nangle CEO and Ger Killian MD of the “The Lunch Bag” whose vision, hard work and persistence has made the creation of these jobs possible”.

Councillor John Rocky McGrath noted that “Tipperary County Council purchased the Lisbunny Business Park in Nenagh in 2020 from Shannon Commercial Properties to facilitate growth of existing businesses in the Park and to provide a base for new businesses. This announcement represents a very significant step forward in achieving our overall objectives in facilitating new jobs for the town and wider region”

In July 2022, Tipperary County Council granted planning permission to Splitstone Ltd t/a “The Lunch Bag” for a new 2,800 sq.m. extension to their existing facility. The Council has also agreed to dispose of a site at Lisbunny to a company which provides a maintenance contract to The Lunch Bag and has been working with other local businesses to facilitate their expansion or location to Lisbunny.
