LECP Public Consultations

There are many organisations involved in supporting the social and economic development of County Tipperary. It has been recognised for some time that many of these organisations have worked independently of others. Sometimes this led to more than one organisation working on a particular issue and, and on the other hand, to some issues being ignored. In 2014 it was decided at national level that a resource should be identified for organisations delivering services at local level to unite to improve outcomes for the people of Ireland and to achieve better results for more people in the community. It was decided that the best approach would be to draw up a plan which would identify the most important areas to work on, what outcomes would result, and organisations that would work on each particular area.

That plan is called the Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP).

An Advisory Group was appointed to start the work of developing the LECP. This group has been working on the plan for some time. We have looked at various types of information available from the CSO and elsewhere; we have liaised with many organisations involved in delivering services in Tipperary; and we have consulted the people of the county both online and at meetings. Indeed, you may have been involved already. As a result, we have now identified what we think are the most important areas of focus to improve the social, community and economic life of the people of Tipperary, but it is really important to us to hear the opinions of you, the general public.

The attached document reflects the High-Level Goals and the High-Level Goals Objectives.
