Hi Everyone, this is Hughie the Elephant. He is going to help you to learn a little bit more about Fire Safety.
 

Hughie’s 7 Steps to Fire Safety

  1. SMOKE ALARMS smoke alarm
    Ask an adult to check batteries monthly
    Place on each floor level
  2. ESCAPE PLAN
    Make sure everyone knows the fire plan
  3. CLOSE ALL DOORS
    A closed door will stop a fire spreading and can keep smoke out for up to 20 minutes
  4. ROLL OUT OF BED
    If you see or hear a smoke alarm, follow the instructions of your fire plan
  5. NEVER
    Never hide in wardrobes or under your bed
    Never try to save any pets or toys
    Never use lifts if you live in an apartment
    Never go back in, go to your meeting place
  6. CALL 999 OR 112 999 phone
    Once out, Stay out and call the Fire Brigade Out!
  7. PRACTICE YOUR ESCAPE PLAN
    Practice your fire Escape Plan with everyone in the house
