Tipperary County Council is introducing a “Choice Based Letting” Scheme (CBL) for certain properties.
What type of dwellings does the scheme apply to?
The scheme only applies to dwellings which have been designated by Tipperary County Council for
Choice Based Letting which are then referred to as “bid dwellings”.
What is Choice Based Letting?
CBL is a way that you can express your interest in renting a suitable CBL property in your preferred area. A ‘suitable’ property is one that you have chosen and that matches your housing needs. CBL properties are owned by the Council and you must express your interest to be considered as a possible tenant of a CBL property.
What properties are available in my area?
Please see a list of currently available properties below. The Council invites expressions of interest or ‘bids’ on these properties from approved applicants on the housing waiting list.
If I am interested in this property, what must I do?
You must place an expression of interest on this property if you wish to be considered as a possible tenant. We will contact the successful applicant and call them in for an interview to review their continued eligibility for social housing support. If you refuse the offer of a CBL dwelling, you cannot bid for another ‘bid’ dwelling for a period of one year.
What happens if several people are interested in the property?
If there is more than one household interested in letting the property, we will decide which household is allocated the property. When deciding this, we will take account of factors such as:
- your category under the Allocation Scheme;
- your waiting time on the housing list;
- your family size and type of property needed;
- Garda check.
How can I apply for the CBL property?
Details of the available property are attached below. If you wish to ‘bid’ for the property, please complete the ‘bid sheet form’ by clicking on the button.
