The Residential Zoned Land Tax was introduced in the Finance Act 2021. The objective of the tax is to activate land that is serviced and zoned for residential use or mixed use, including residential use, in order to increase housing supply and to ensure regeneration of vacant and idle lands in urban areas.

Material Alterations LAPs

Proposed Material Amendments to the Clonmel, Nenagh & Thurles LAPs

In accordance with Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), Tipperary County Council has screened the Proposed Material Alterations and has determined, in the case of all three LAPs, that Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) and Appropriate Assessments (AA) are not required with respect to the Proposed Material Alterations.

Transboundary Environmental Public Consultation- Belgium Doel 4 and Tihange 3

On 14 July 2022, the Minister for Housing, Local Government & Heritage, received a letter from the Belgian Minister of Energy in relation to the proposed 10 year extension to the operational life of the Doel 4 and Tihange 3 nuclear power plants, located near the Port of Antwerp and the village of Tihange respectively. This letter invited Ireland to participate in a transboundary EIA consultation in relation to the proposed project and advised that relevant environmental documentation would be available early in 2023. The documentation necessary to facilitate transboundary EIA consultation was received on 20 March 2023 from Belgian authorities.
