Are there consequences of giving waste to a person who does not have a waste collection permit?

Yes. Each Local Authority is responsible for the enforcement of these Regulations. A person guilty of an offence under Sections 15, 18, 34, or 36 of the Waste Management Act 1996, as amended, for the contravention of a regulation made under this named Section is liable: (a) on summary conviction, to a Class B fine (i.e. up to €4,000.00) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or both, or, (b) on conviction on indictment, to a fine not exceeding €15,000,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or both.
